Roman Tomb

Writer's picture: SNX Türkiye EditörSNX Türkiye Editör

The building, which is claimed to have been built in the 4th century during the Roman period, constitutes the lower floor of a 12th century Seljuk tomb, the upper floor of which was destroyed. The tomb was uncovered and restored in 1956. There are gravestones dating back to 1317-1318 in the tomb. The tomb was built of black cut stone, with a rectangular plan and a single vault.

The two-storey building, which has two ventilation windows on the east and west facades, is entered through a door shifted to the west end of the north facade.
